Anti-Kabbalah

(For James Joyce)

by Ralph Dumain

“It darkles, (tinct, tint) all this our funnaminal world.”
Finnegans Wake

Removing the curse of word-magic,
with pun-poetry confounding fortuitous coincidence
to unmake / make meaning to free:
Craft to kill the gods, not serve them, not feign them,
reverse-engineering the bullshit of the ages.
Flavors are sweet just by themselves;
otherwise only the Dao, the hub of the wheel,
and I, and you, whirling around somewhere.
