Invisible Midwifery / Akuŝo Nevidebla
Original poem in Esperanto and English translation
by Ralph Dumain
AKUŜO NEVIDEBLA
Estu simpla kanto, mia fantomo,
kiu migras supertere, senradika.
Estu simpla kanto, por stimuli
puron. Malteksu determinitecon.
Teksu spiriton de futuro,
kaj elvoku la teron
brunan, riĉan.
INVISIBLE MIDWIFERY
Be a simple song, my ghost
who wanders over the earth, rootless.
Be a simple song, to stimulate purity.
Unweave the strands of determination.
Weave a spirit for the future,
and evoke the earth,
brown and rich.( Verkita je 1989.05.09 / Written 9 May 1989, Buffalo, NY, Colquhoun household)
(Key to Esperanto pronunciation: ŝ = "sh", ĉ = "ch", "c" = "ts", "r" is trilled. Accent always falls on penultimate syllable. Vowels pronounced as in Italian. What you see is what you pronounce.)
